Ah, there’s nothing quite like Halloween, is there? The wee ones running about in their costumes, treats in hand… until one of those sticky sweets makes its way onto your lovely carpet or upholstery. But no worries, I’ve a few tricks up my sleeve to help you banish that candy for good!

First, freeze the sticky culprit. Grab an ice cube and hold it against the candy for a few minutes until it hardens. Then, gently scrape it off with a butter knife or spoon. Next, mix a bit of warm water with dish soap, dab the area with a cloth, and blot—don’t rub! You can also use white vinegar if the candy’s leaving a stain behind.

For those more stubborn candies or fabrics, try a dab of rubbing alcohol – but be sure to test it on a hidden spot first.
